WS MUSIC INITIATIVES

WESTERN SYDNEY MUSIC INDUSTRY RESEARCH & DATABASE

Vyva is partnering with the City of Parramatta to deliver a research and sector-mapping project focused on strengthening the Western Sydney music ecosystem.

The project aims to build a comprehensive understanding of the region's music sector by identifying artists, venues, promoters, producers, educators, industry workers, and creative businesses that contribute to Western Sydney's vibrant cultural landscape.

At the heart of the initiative is the Western Sydney Music Survey, designed to capture valuable industry insights, support advocacy efforts, and inform future investment in music infrastructure, programming, and industry development.

Participants will also have the opportunity to opt into the development of the Western Sydney Music Database, a resource designed to strengthen connections across the sector and improve access to opportunities.

The project also includes an audit of live music venues within the Parramatta Local Government Area, providing valuable insights into the current state of the sector and helping inform future cultural planning, policy development, and investment by the City of Parramatta

Together, this work will contribute to a stronger, more connected, and better-supported music ecosystem across Western Sydney.

Stay tuned: the Western Sydney Music Survey will launch in the coming months, inviting you to help shape the future of our music community, sector and larger ecosystem.
